Student Reflection
Before making this timeline, I didn't really know much about my family's history. Now I not only know more about who my ancestors were and when they lived, but I see how they lived at the same time as events we study in World History. It's made me want to find out more about these people, maybe even do some genealogy research to discover things my parents don't know about their family. If this is the sort of thing a historian does it's pretty cool!
Teacher Reflection
In making my own family timeline, I saw connections with historical events that I had never noticed before. To think that my paternal grandfather was born in the same year that the world's first electrical power station opened when now, just three generations on, life without cheap and reliable electricity is hard to conceive.
